Pastor David Putz began his ministry as a teacher and tutor at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, Michigan. After two years, Pastor Putz was re-assigned to serve as a mission pastor for King of Kings Evangelical Lutheran Church of Little Rock, Arkansas. During his eight year ministry in Little Rock, he also had the privilege of assisting in the opening of a new congregation - Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Pastor Putz returned to teaching when he accepted the call to Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Following 15 years at WLA he served as the vacancy pastor for congregations in Knowles and Lomira, Wisconsin; Oakfield, Wisconsin; and Baltimore, Maryland. During 2010 he served Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saint Petersburg, Florida - before returning to Michigan.
After serving Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portland, Michigan, for 6 years; Pastor Putz was called to serve our congregations Trinity and Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Churches of Lincoln and Mio, Michigan.
Trinity was officially organized in November of 1947 and moved into its own church building in May of 1948. The current sanctuary was completed and dedicated in June of 1969. The building is sometimes referred to as the "Lincoln Log Church" because the members cut and cured the timbers themselves. An elevator was added for ease of access to the fellowship hall in 1997. God has truly blessed this place of worship as a place where the gospel message of Jesus Christ is supreme. To God be the glory!
The people of Trinity all come from different backgrounds: some are new, some have been around awhile, some are teachers, some are farmers, some were there to build our church facilities from the ground up. But they all have one thing in common: they rejoice every day in the forgiveness of sins that Christ Jesus our Lord won for us on the cross. They enjoy joining together for worship regularly and growing in faith through Bible Class as well.
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member of a larger church body, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). This name distinguishes our beliefs and teachings from other "Lutheran" churches. The WELS is a body of churches which all believe, confess and teach the same things according to the historical Lutheran faith which is based entirely upon the Word of God given to us in the Bible.
